Grant recipient from the Canada Council for the Arts, Stella will release her first full studio album “Dreaming” on Friday, April 19th, 2022. The album was produced by François Lalonde at Studio Chez Frank in Montreal in which several renowned musicians participated such as the cellist Sheila Hannigan, the pianist and composer Martin Lizotte and the trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin, JUNO 2020 award recipient for best jazz-solo album of the year along with a FÉLIX award for best jazz album of the year in 2020.
Stella, singer-songwriter, has performed on several major Montreal stages as a backing vocalist since 2004. She has participated in various major events such as the Montreal International Jazz Festival during the closing show of The Barr Brothers in 2015, the Mondial Choral de Laval, the concert Music to Give Peace A Chance, presented in conjunction with the exhibition LIBERTÉ CONQUÉRANTE/GROWING FREEDOM by Yoko Ono at the Phi Foundation for Contemporary Art in 2019 and singer and percussionist at the Music and Nature event at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
In addition to her musical journey, stella was a chorister for the Maha Choir for many years, a bilingual feminist choir in Montreal, favoring a unique feminist approach to choral singing and offering its support to local organizations and women's activists. Through her songs from the album “Dreaming”, Stella shares her love for life and nature while highlighting the complexity of human emotions and the belief in the possibility of a better world.
